At Vanessa Clewes Salmon Modern & Contemporary Art we specialise in interesting colourful paintings by renowned British artists from about 1950 to the present day.

Although we concentrate on Modern British Art, we also have some carefully selected decorative original pieces that have particularly caught our eye and which are by less known contemporary artists from countries such as Italy, France and even South Africa.

We pride ourselves in our frames, all have been specially chosen to complement the paintings and some are hand carved from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Vanessa’s artistic interests are eclectic; her academic background spans the Italian Renaissance to Islamic Art, she has been involved in the art world all her working life as a journalist to promoting leading art dealers, interior designers, antiquarian booksellers and auction houses.
