New & Noteworthy

Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, a pioneer of Post war British abstraction and Kate Nicholson, both renowned artists based in Cornwall, explored colour and light. The former’s warm terracotta tones and soft shapes are evocative of the happy time she spent in Spain in the late 50s, while the bold energetic brushwork Nicholson’s Clytemnestra is reminiscent of modern abstract designs found on Japanese ceramics.
