Mary Fedden OBE (1915-2012)

Mary Fedden OBE (1915-2012) must be one of today’s most fashionable and sought after contemporary artists; she was prolific and prices for her work continue to soar.  She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and became the first female tutor to teach Painting at the Royal College of Art, where both David Hockney and Allen Jones were her students.  Fedden has had solo shows every year all over Britain since 1950; she was President of the Royal West of England Academy and in the 1990s she was elected a Royal Academician in the Senior Order, she received an OBE and was awarded Doctor of Literature, Bath University.
